About the Artist

Hello :) my name is Philippa and I am the artist behind all paintings and illustrations. I am self-taught and focus on fantasy inspired scenes and worlds. Ever since I have been a child, fantasy books, series and art have immensely fascinated me. I have poured my heart into creating beautiful fantasy worlds ever since. As soon as I learned to read I spent most nights staying up with a torch, reading book after book under the covers. Worlds in which peace and beauty existed in abundance, and despite hardship and challenges; the inner strength, friendship and development of the characters would guarantee a return of harmony and happiness. If I had to pinpoint a single feeling I want to convey through my art it is reassurance. Reassurance that life will be okay; that there is good in life, hope that there are better days ahead, and gratitude for what is.

As everyone else, I have had painful and life changing experiences. My childhood was a difficult one, and the fantasy worlds and adventures gave me a means to escape. But more importantly, I was able to feel all the feelings: a sense of community, belonging and friendship, I felt understood by characters that felt alienated and different. I felt their excitement at the prospect of adventure and exploration of new worlds, their fear and their pain at loss and betrayal. Many worlds became so important to me that I wanted to capture them in my paintings and illustrations. My creativity is sparked by peaceful and beautiful worlds and even now I feel this urge to hold on to specific worlds through my paintings :) I hope you find joy in my art, and if anything, it reminds you of the beauty in life, and how we often need to choose to see it or even create it ourselves.
